Horizontal Approach
cABCDE
Address catastrophic bleeding first by applying direct pressure over the wound.
Two 18 gauge (Green) Wide bore cannulae
Multi monitor (BP, PR, Saturation)
Give O2 by face mask
AMPLE History
Primary Survey
A – Can Talk
C -Spine (Cervical Collar)
B – Chest expansion, Percuss, Breath sounds
C – BP, PR and CRFT
D – GCSp
E –
Secondary Survey
Full history and Head to toe examination
Head Trauma
Chest Trauma
Abdominal trauma
If penetrate the peritoneum –> Exploratory Laparatomy
FAST SCAN
Pelvic trauma
Pelvic binder
Shock
Burns
- Fluid resuscitation based on Parkland formula
- If Burn surface area is more than 15% in adults
- Rule of nine to determine Burn surface area
- 4 * BW * TBSA ml in 24 hrs
- Half in first 8 hrs and rest within 24 hrs
